The impact of Western concepts

Compare and contrast the impact of one or two Western concepts such as Liberalism, Republicanism, or human rights, in two different countries during the eras covered in this class. For example, one could write an essay on the comparing France and the United States in the area of human rights and government power. One could start comparing the Declaration of the Rights of Man & Citizen with the Declaration of Independence and move on from there into the late twentieth century.
