The concept of musician family trees

  1.This week we learn about the concept of musician family trees, which are not the same as genealogical family trees. Rather they are the educational heritage that continues from teacher to student to that student's students, etc., creating an entire lineage of musical tradition and practice. Do you think it is important for people to recognize this educational heritage for musicians? Do we look for links like this when we study popular music?
