The Cloud

    There are roughly 3.81 billion people using social media, or as our section refers to it, The Cloud. The Cloud is truly a semiotic space that not only mimics the intricacies of society, it also actively uses highly sophisticated, addictive, tactics to keep us there, and away from what our natural social environments once were. Like drug addicts, we have become “users” and our “feed” like our food diets, have changed and determined what our mental physique looks like. Perhaps in attempts to “diet” from this mental junk food, a semiotic analysis on this relatively new way of perceiving the world is one way we can slowly taper off the digital side effects from spending our time with our head in The Cloud.
