The benefits of a proposed radial visualization and risk indicators on resource allocation decision
As a nurse practitioner, I would apply principles of holistic nursing, cultural humility, and self-reflection by interacting with all patients and colleagues respectfully, honoring their cultural beliefs and values, and seeking self-knowledge and insight, respectively. According to Adams (2016), caring reflects a high regard for patients and other care team members as human beings worthy of dignity and utmost respect. Thus, practicing holistic nursing will entail portraying genuine concern for clients while working collaboratively with fellow healthcare professionals to create a conducive treatment environment capable of providing healing and growth for all people. Concerning cultural humility, displaying respect for the cultural beliefs of patients and colleagues would constitute an effective way of practicing individual-centered care while establishing rapport with other caregivers to improve outcomes. Adams (2016) argues that caring is integral to the nursing profession. By implication, a nurse practitioner must display this value during interactions with patients and other professionals from different cultural backgrounds. Self-knowledge and insight would enable me to identify strategies for improving my practice and consequently ensure better outcomes for clients. As Adams (2016) contends, nursing is both an art and a science that entails reflecting on one’s actions to form deeper spiritual connections capable of enhancing, preserving, and protecting an individual’s health and wellbeing. With these principles applied as discussed, it would be possible to navigate my future role as a nurse practitioner seamlessly.
