Religion in the contemporary world

In light of Lynn White's answer to his critics in "Continuing the Conversation," how far are White and Peacocke, in "The Judeo-Christian Doctrine of Creation and Attitudes of Nature" in their views? Has some of the dispute dissolved? Why or why not?
