Are ethics really an issue in this day and age? Please explain your answer
Should healthcare providers make decisions based solely on profit? For instance, should a provider be able to discontinue accepting Medicaid based on the fact that they once again dropped reimbursement rates? Or by becoming a healthcare provider and taking the Hippocratic Oath/Florence Nightingale Pledge do we have an obligation to provide regardless of a patient’s ability to pay? Does your answer change if we’re talking about a child or a patient with disabilities? Please explain your answer.
