Background section: describes the topic, setting, what the identified issue is and why it is important, what the
intervention is, and why you thought it work, and the objective of the intervention (change).
Methods section: describes what you did (what the change was) what the measures were, how you made and
collected the measurements and for what period of time. It also includes how you assessed the differences
over time-what was your analytic methodology, how did you go about the analysis?
Results section: describes in words and numbers what happened. What were the findings? Often (but not
always) includes a table.
Discussion section: what went well? What would you do differently? What did you learn?
