It is said that advertisers often utilize already existing deep-seated ideologies in society and base their
commercials on them. Stereotypes have been used in advertisement as long as they have been around, and
different ads over time have been thought by some to be more racist than others.
Racial stereotypes are used frequently in advertising. They are mental ideologies that the viewer assigns
meaning to in order to process information. Because of this, we see many different outcomes. However, it can
be perceived negatively in instances where the stereotyping begins causing offense.
