Option 1: Putting Memory Tools to Use
This option will allow you to try out some new memory strategies. You will choose at least three new strategies
that you learned in your reading and explain why those strategies are useful based on the classes and content
that you are learning. Then, you will put your new strategies to use and reflect on their effectiveness. Use this
template to complete all of your work.
Option 2: Analyzing your Current Study Methods
This option will guide you as you reflect on some of the strategies you are currently using to study. You will
describe how you are using your current study methods, analyze their connection to the information processing
model, and reflect on their effectiveness as well as possible ways to improve their effectiveness. Complete
your work using this chart.
Option 3: Explaining the Information Processing Model
This option you will allow you to reflect on the content from the book and demonstrate your understanding of
the information processing model. Being able to clearly explain how your brain processes information can
support your ability to choose and use effective study methods. Be sure to reference the information
processing model as explained in your chapter. Be sure to include all major components of the information
processing model in your comparison/analogy.
In approximately 300 words, respond to the following prompt.
This chapter mainly talks about memory processing. Understanding memory processing is vital to
understanding how you learn. How would you explain the information processing model to someone who has
never heard of it before? What comparisons could you make? (In other words, what is a good analogy that you
could use to describe how your brain stores and retrieves information?) Be sure to explain the information
processing model and its importance in simple, relatable, and easy to understand terms.
