You are a court appointed psychologist assessing a woman named Mary as part of a custody evaluation. Mary is a 35 year old in the midst of a bitter divorce and custody battle. Her husband says she’s a crazy drunk and unfit to be a parent. Mary says that he is lying about her drinking in order to try to win the custody dispute and her drinking is not problematic.
What is your assessment plan?
In forming your assessment plan it may be helpful to ask yourself two questions:
1. What is important to know more about?
2. How would you get this information?
