Project Initiation - Destination Wedding

The scenario: Destination Wedding- You have been tasked with creating a project to manage a destination
wedding. You will be required to figure out the destination. You have been given a budget 25,000 dollars. You
will have to determine all costs and resources. The project must be completed in six months.
Project Plan Template
Project managers work with project management plans tailored to each specific project. You will be using a
Project Plan Template (attached) to complete project management tasks throughout this course, for the project
you chose for this assessment. This will help you create the slides and I do need this returned to me. It is the
proof my professor needs to show the work was done correctly.
Using the Project Plan Template as your guide, complete the following sections.
Project charter.
Project scope - Make sure you note what is not in scope for your project.
Stakeholder register
WBS (work breakdown structure).- Using MS Project, Excel, Visio or other software, develop a WBS based on
your selected business or IT project.
WBS should include, at a minimum, three levels.
Create Your Presentation and Deliverables
Create a 7 slide PowerPoint presentation with detailed notes (no cover page needed). Your presentation
should include the following:
Project summary.
Summary of the project charter, including a project management methodology.
WBS (work breakdown structure):
Using Microsoft Project, Excel, Visio or other software, develop a WBS based on your selected business or IT
project.
WBS should include, at a minimum, three levels.
Mandatory aspects to include (how I'm being graded):

  • Develops an executive summary that includes a project summary, benefits, cost, duration, resources needed,
    and supporting evidence.
  • Constructs a comprehensive project charter and explains the choice of project management methodology;
    includes references and relevant supporting evidence.
  • Creates a comprehensive stakeholder register that includes identification, assessment, and classification,
    with supporting data and references.
  • Develops a comprehensive work breakdown structure with numbering and more than four levels of task
    details.
  • Integrates exemplary visual elements that clarify and highlight key points.
  • Consistently communicates effectively in a professional, scholarly manner consistent with the standards and
    conventions of project management.
