Persuasive speech

            1. Open with a brief statement of your persuasive main idea (“I am here to tell you why you should….”) 2. Connect to the audience and establish your credibility by leading with a hook OR by telling a personal story about why this topic is important to you 3. More fully explain your main idea clearly and with conviction, that is, why should other people care? 4. Support your idea with hard evidence from quality sources (you must do some research – provide 3 pieces of evidence ) 5. Give your audience calls to action (it’s about them, not you. Three calls to action are most effective)
