Legalization of recreational marijuana in Canada

  Recreational marijuana was legalized in Canada on October 17th, 2018. The government of Canada argued that legalizing cannabis was one of the best ways to keep it away from youth and reduce marijuana related crime. Others argue that it is dangerous for a young person’s mental health and that legalization leads to an increase in violent crime. Did the government of Canada legalize cannabis too hastily without knowing the full impacts of the drug on society?
