Laws that govern gravity

1.Explore the laws that govern gravity. When we examine the motions of objects in the sky, it becomes evident that they can teach us much about the laws of physics that govern the behavior of matter everywhere in the universe. When we discuss laws in science, one of the first that comes to mind is the law of Universal Gravitation. On the surface of the Earth the acceleration due to gravity is 9.8 meters per second squared. Which object would accelerate faster towards the ground at the surface of the Earth when dropped from the same height...a feather or a hammer? Why? If the force of gravity is roughly the same everywhere on the surface of the Earth, why the difference in acceleration? If you did the same experiment on the Moon (which has been done) would you get the same result? Defend your opinion.
