Jesus as the fulfillment of Scripture

  When you think of Jesus as the fulfillment of Scripture, you usually see that Jesus was in some way a literal, specific fulfillment of an Old Testament prediction. However, Matthew broadens the use of Old Testament Scripture to show fulfillment in Jesus’s life. It is not always literal, specific fulfillment. In what ways does Matthew use the fulfillment concept in his “fulfillment formula” passages?
