Important to develop an empathetic relationship

Reflect on Matthew 7:12, Ephesians 4:32, and I Peter 3:8. Why is it important to develop an empathetic relationship with a client with a substance use disorder? How would you challenge behaviors and thoughts that are not recovery promoting? Furthermore, how would you provide information to them relating to substance use disorder and treatment?
