The research paper assignment consists of 2 parts. This is Part 1 and contains several steps. Be sure to do
each step and if you have questions, contact the professor as soon as possible.
A. Find an Article!
Locate an article that is accessible online that relates to computer technology and impacts society in one or
more ways, such as economically, historically, politically or ethically. Use an appropriate source, so avoid blogs
and Wikipedia as editing can be done by anyone on most pages. As a rule, the sources you choose lend
weight to the credibility of your own arguments. The more reliable and verifiable the source, the more sound
your statements and arguments are. Everyone has an opinion, but you wouldn’t rely on the technique of your
heart surgeon when it comes to fixing your plumbing issues. You can use Wikipedia as a means to locate
primary sources, do not cite Wikipedia.
Try Google Scholar at http://scholar.google.com for some of the most current research papers, however they
are usually lengthy but extremely informative. You can also try:
