B. The Food & Drug Administration (FDA):
The Food & Drug Administration (FDA) is a federal agency responsible for regulating food, medications, medical devices, dietary supplements and cosmetics sold in the United States. The FDA requires manufacturers to prove that products are safe prior to being marketed or sold commercially and monitors them once they have been on the market. It also reviews new medicines before they can go on sale, inspects manufacturing plants that produce drugs or medical devices, and warns consumers about potentially dangerous products or ingredients found in foods or other consumer goods.
