With your major background, choose a real company, imagine that you are the manager of the department, you face a challenge or problem to solve:
1) State the management problem;
2) Propose the research problem;
3) Research design (including discussion of inductive research or deductive research; data collection techniques used; sample size, non-probability or probability sample, if non-probability, what type of non-probability sample will be used; dependent variable and independent variable, are the variable dichotomous, discrete or continuous?)
4) What ethical issues need be stated in your research?
1) Management Problem:
Our company has been experiencing a decrease in customer satisfaction, despite our efforts to provide the best possible service. We need to understand what is causing this dissatisfaction and how we can better meet the needs of our customers.
3) Research Design: This research could be conducted using both inductive and deductive research methods. A survey with structured questions would be used as a primary data collection technique. A sample size of 300 people would be included, randomly selected from current customers who have provided their contact information to us. The dependent variable would measure overall customer satisfaction (dichotomous, discrete or continuous). The independent variables include factors such as length of time as a customer, frequency of purchasing products/services, level of product/service quality received, etc., which may all have different types of scales (dichotomous, discrete or continuous).
4) Ethical Issues: When conducting any type of research involving human participants, there are many ethical considerations that must be addressed. These include obtaining informed consent from the participants, properly protecting confidential and personal information shared by them during the study process, ensuring that no harm comes to participants due to their participation in the study and making sure that any data obtained during the study is only used for its stated purpose. Additionally, it should also be noted that this research will not discriminate against any person based on gender identity or expression or other characteristics protected under applicable laws.
