Espada’s poems that touched you emotionally

After reading the poetry collection Floaters by Martin Espada (along with the poems, be sure to read the Notes on the Poems starting p. 65), please post responses to the following two questions. And please respond to at least two posts by other students. 1. Discuss the content of one of Espada’s poems that touched you emotionally (you can check the Notes section starting p. 65 to see if the poem’s context is discussed). Also, discuss what Espada did stylistically to make the poem effective. 2. Write a poem about a personal incident or incident in the news involving callous or brutal treatment of immigrants to the U.S.—model your poem after one of Espada’s and include a paragraph-length note below your poem (like Espada’s notes at the back of his book) that describes in detail the context of the incident at the center of your poem.
