Does culture matter? And, which culture matters: 1) “national” or “individualistic” culture, or, 2) his/her “organizational” culture? Are both cultures the same? “Google-around a bit” Include references, citation format is APA
Yes, culture does matter and both national and organizational cultures are important. National culture is the values, customs, norms, beliefs and behaviors that exist within a society as a whole. It is typically formed by the collective history of different social groups within a region or nation. Individualistic culture refers to an emphasis on individual rights and beliefs instead of collective identity. Meanwhile, organizational culture is the shared beliefs, attitudes and values among employees within any given organization (Rao & Khatri 2020).
