Diaspora

      Diaspora (i.e., away-from-home) experience has become a dominant mode of re-imagining Hong Kong culture in pre- and post-1997 years. Using Autumn Moon as example and discuss symbolic meanings surrounding (1) the grandmother left behind in Hong Kong and (2) Wai’s incomplete recitation of a classical Chinese poem.
