Review again the DHS Strategic Plan for fiscal years 2020-2024. Ups:
1. The 2020-2024 DHS Strategic Plan focuses on modernizing the Department of Homeland Security by addressing six critical mission areas and providing a comprehensive approach to improve national security and emergency preparedness. My opinion has not changed since Week 1 as this is an essential part of the department’s mission, especially during times of crisis.
2. The plan also highlights its commitment to strengthening public-private partnerships, which was something I felt was important in Week 1 but have become all the more relevant given recent events and greater levels of collaboration between government entities and private companies for crisis management efforts.
3. Additionally, the 2020-2024 DHS Strategic Plan emphasizes its support for diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility across all aspects of operations; this was something that I noted when reviewing the plan initially but it is even more pertinent now in light of current social movements pushing for greater representation within governmental organizations.
