You are a nurse at a free clinic. A patient walks in the door and starts talking to you. You immediately notice symptoms of a digestive nature.
1) Describe the digestive issue in which some component of your patient’s diet is causing them discomfort. Describe their symptoms AND the chemical digestive problem they are encountering (ie. inability to adequately digest proteins, lipids, a specific monosaccharide, a specific sugar, etc). How can they relieve their discomfort?
2) Assume your patient has a disease or cancer of some aspect of the digestive tract. Name the diesease or cancer and describe the problem and the symptoms AND how the disease or cancer impacts their quality of life. State the specific condition and what they might experience in the next few months to years.
