Daily life in Rome

Write a short response paper reflecting on what it would have been like to live in late Roman society. Focus your paper on a clearly-defined aspect of daily life, such as food, or attending mass, or dress, or being a slave. this is an exercise in historical imagination, not in argumentation. Be sure to support your points by reference to the primary sources we have read, but the goal of this exercise is to imagine what human life was like in the late empire, to attempt to put ourselves in the shoes of late Romans.
