Using the CSR (sustainability) report associated with your company, write a critique of the CSR report for your
company focusing on how effectively the company communicates its messages and how your company could
benefit from both engaging and reporting sustainability initiatives.
To achieve full credit you are required to include the following:
- Messaging: Identify the company’s overall message and at least five/six (5/6) key messages/commitments
the company is engaged from a CSR and sustainability perspective. Include your interpretation of the message
and how the company is accomplishing their goals.
a. Include any areas the Reporting company could improve their report. - Content Analysis: Analyze the content and structure of the CSR report and comment whether the company
was effective or ineffective in their structure/style report.
a. For example… did the company use Report format and Navigation/sections, Storytelling,
graphics/infographics and/or Appendices? - Recommendations: Identify at least one initiative or reporting improvement that your company may benefit
by adopting. - Research: Conduct research for one company to determine their reputation in social media and news outlets
pertaining to sustainability initiatives. - Sustainability Guidelines: Determine and identify references such as GRI or SASB or IIRC or other
guidelines such as CDP and provide examples of references. - External validation: Identify if your company included any external assurance; provide examples such as Big
Four firms or others providing validation or opinion. - Answer the following two questions consider your company’s true impact:
a. Would you work for your company and why?
b. Would you invest in your company and why?
