Cross‐Cultural Perspectives on violence in adolescent heterosexual relationships A​‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍​ssignment 1: Essay For your essay, you will review research findings about a topic of your choice in the social scientific literature about adolescents and young adults. This can, but does not have to, be related to the course literature. You will evaluate the cross-cultural generalizability and relevance of these findings, and will envision a culture-sensitive research design to examine this topic in a different cultural context. You will also write a brief positionality and reflexivity statement. If this sounds intimidating, don’t worry: There will be plenty of room for your questions and feedback during the seminars. A note on writing: Many students believe that academic writing should be complex and difficult to understand: The more confused you are after reading a text, the more academic it is. We think that the opposite is true: Your writing should be simple and clear so that it becomes understandable for as many people as possible.
