Cost Determination/Unit Cost Determination Project Much of cost accounting concerns cost behavior, cost
determination, and unit cost determination. Unit costs generally involve a collection process and an averaging
process. Your task is to determine the cost of something of your own choosing. Examples of items which have
been done in the past are automobiles, motorcycles, houses, weddings, or your education. The item must be
something that you consider significant and can be something that you wish you had or that you already own or
are involved in.
You must think of every cost related to this object. For example, if you chose your education, your analysis
must go beyond tuition to include things like transportation and the opportunity cost of not working or working
less. Costs should be categorized as either fixed or variable. A variable, fixed and total cost per cost driver
should be presented, as well as the appropriate calculated cost equation. Please list all assumptions that you
