Research and find a topic related to current technology, scientific, human, social, business, or economic problems. Write a 700-1200 word paper that includes the following:
• Research the historical, social, professional, ethical, and legal aspects of your discipline. Identify a problem facing the world today and create a problem statement. The problem statement should be objective, backed by statistics, clear, and concise. The problem scope and affected population(s) should be inherent to the problem statement. A problem statement is usually one or two sentences in which you explain the problem your process improvement project will address. In general, a problem statement will outline the negative points of the current situation and explain why this matters.
• Rationale: Analyze the social and professional contexts of your discipline. Provide a one-paragraph explanation for why the topic is important, both to the team and to the profession, as well as its effect(s) on the professional and ethical environments.
• Vision Statement: Include a version of the world where the problem remains unsolved, as well as a version of the world if the problem were to be solved.
The assignment requires a minimum of 3 peer-reviewed journal articles from within the past 5 years. Articles with no designated author are not allowed.
Contemporary Issues in Technology
Vision Statement: Without adequate ethical standards surrounding AI’s use in healthcare settings, patients may be at risk for receiving inequitable care or experiencing data breaches due to inadequate security protocols surrounding their personal information. Furthermore, certain populations may not benefit from advancements made by AI if they do not have access to those services or if algorithmic bias exists within those systems. On the other hand, if we are able to create effective guidelines outlining acceptable uses for this technology while protecting individual rights such as privacy and autonomy then everyone will benefit from improved quality of care due to increased accuracy provided by these methods. This would lead to better health outcomes across all demographics which could revolutionize medical practice worldwide.
