Here at USF, we had a long-running project on community health assessment and data warehousing. The project was focused on a methodology originally developed in the College of Public Health called “comprehensive assessment for tracking community health” (CATCH). In a collaboration between the College of Public Health and the College of Business, we began a multi-year project to support community health assessment through the creation of a Florida-based data warehouse. The CATCH data warehouse was used to generate more than two dozen large-scale community health assessment throughout Florida over about a decade, along with other related research efforts. The CATCH methodology served as a model for later community health assessment activities at the national level.
