Consider the following case for analysis:
Anna is a part-time student in the MACP Program. She is completing her internship at the high school at which she teaches. Anna struggled to get enough clients to meet the practice requirements, and when she notices a boy in her Social Studies class who seems withdrawn and alienated from other students, she tries to contact him. At first, Joseph reluctantly answers to her and subsequently stays very often after class to talk. Anna asks him if he would like to become her regular client. Both Joseph and his parents agree, and Anna makes an appointment with him every Tuesday after Social Studies classes.
Answer the following questions:
1.What are the ethical issues in this case? Identify the dilemma(s) in the code of ethics.
2.Did the counsellor-in-training acted in accordance with the applicable standards and principles?
3.What other approaches would be more ethical? Make a decision by setting the standards and rules for the case.
In the assignment, the student’s task is to critically analyze the ethical case and provide answers to presented questions by integrating references to ethical principles, standards of practice, relevant practice guidelines and legislation.
