Why does capitalism work so well in the United States? On the contrary why does socialism work so well in China and Russia, even though up until a decade ago they were more communistic?
Capitalism works well in the United States because of its strong focus on individual freedom and choice. The US has a high level of economic mobility, with individuals able to create their own businesses, pursue different career paths, and take advantage of the free market system. Capitalism also rewards innovation, which helps drive economic growth.
Socialism works well in China and Russia due to their top-down approach to governance. In these countries, central planning allows for targeted investment into areas that need support or have potential for development. This type of approach also encourages collective ownership and responsibility among citizens which can lead to greater stability and enhance productivity at the national level. Additionally, Chinese and Russian governments tend to be heavily involved in the running of industries such as energy production or agriculture – something many capitalist economies lack – allowing them to better manage these sectors for long-term success.
