Write an evaluative comparison of the general metaphysical views of ancient sources with medieval sources as particularly represented by Augustine,
Anselm, and Aquinas. Note that the reaction paper could mean a philosophical reection, a summary of topics taken, and a personal evaluation on what was
covered from Module V-IX. You will limit your paper to at least 1000 words or simply two to three paragraphs or roughly one to two paged essay.
You must build your essay through the following points:
1. After reading the article “Medieval Philosophy” from the web, Stanford Encyclopedia of philosophy and reviewing what we have learned from the ancient
(Greek) sources of metaphysics (Summary and Reections), explain the sharp contrast between the Ancient/Greek philosophy with Medieval Philosophy in
general.
2. Compare the views and methods used by the Greeks thinkers (Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle) with the Medieval thinkers (Augustine, Anselm, and Aquinas)
regarding their view on reality, nature and existence of God, immortality of soul, human nature, etc. Review the content of Augustine’s Confession, Anselm’s
Proslogion, and Aquinas’ Summa Theologica as excerpted in the textbook.
