– What does it mean to critically appraise an article or a number of articles?

– Why should we critically appraise an article? Consumers of research must understand the reliability and validity of the information provided within a journal article. Before restating or using the information provided, readers must systematically assess how much trust they have for the information, determine it’s value and how it can be applied.
