The year is 1973, and you are a lawyer for Atlantic Records. While browsing in a
record store, you discover that a pirate outfit called Bron-Yr-Aur Records has issued an
unauthorized anthology of Led Zeppelin songs called Get the Led Out which includes
three tracks from Led Zeppelin I, two tracks from Led Zeppelin III, and five tracks from
Houses of the Holy. Write a letter to the president of Atlantic Records outlining possible
strategies for blocking the further distribution of Get the Led Out.
uld take the form of a letter that is at least 250 words. (Longer is fine!)
2. You are encouraged to cite cases and laws we’ve discussed in class (e.g. White-Smith v. Apollo, Copyright
Act if 1909). If you quote from a court decision or a law, please make sure you enclose that quotation in
quotation marks and provide an appropriate in-text citation. Do not quote from any other sources.
3. Express your arguments in your own words. Plagiarism is grounds for failing the assignment.
4. Though you are welcome to use the assigned readings and lectures, do not do any additional research to
answer the question. (The case is not modeled on a real example.)
