One leader that I admire who shares some of my same leadership traits is Mahatma Gandhi. He was a great leader and role model who inspired others with his courage, selflessness, and dedication to justice. Similar to Gandhi, I believe in the importance of taking responsibility for our own actions and having the courage to speak up for what we believe in. Like him, I strive to be compassionate towards others and try to understand their perspectives even when they are different from my own.
Additionally, Gandhi demonstrated strong organizational skills as he organized large-scale protests against British rule in India throughout his life. Similarly, I have experience leading teams within organizations where I have been able to effectively set goals and lead the team towards achieving them.
The leadership theory that best matches my style is transformational leadership theory. Transformational leaders focus on inspiring followers by motivating them through clear communication of shared values and vision (Ayadi et al., 2019). This type of leadership emphasizes integrity, trustworthiness, empathy, fairness, respect for diversity, autonomy supportiveness and innovation (Burns 1978). By fostering an environment that encourages collaboration and engagement between all members while also providing feedback along the way promotes positive change among individuals (Rafferty & Griffin 2004). Furthermore active listening skills along with effective problem solving can be used by transformational leaders which will help foster relationships built upon mutual trust(Kouzes & Posner 2012). All these characteristics are relevant for me since it reflects my core beliefs about how people should be treated regardless of their job title or experience level which is why it matches with my style perfectly
