The majority of U.S. states have implemented laws aimed at regulating sports agents. Furthermore, the U.S. federal government, through the Sports Agent Responsibility and Trust Act (SPARTA), has sought to regulate some actions of sports agents. Both the Uniform Athlete Agents Act and SPARTA allow for sports agents to be criminally prosecuted. However, even though these laws exist, stories and allegations surrounding agents providing college athletes with improper benefits continue to persist. Thus, the question becomes, how successful have the Uniform Athlete Agents Act and SPARTA been at regulating the behavior of sports agents? In a 2 page paper, respond to the following: 1. Give a brief synapse of Sports Agents Jason Goggins & Raymond L. Savage, Jr. who were charged with violating either the Uniform Athlete Agents Act in their state and/or The Sports Agent Responsibility and Trust Act (SPARTA). Review the allegations against the agent and the case that was brought against them. 2. An explanation of the punishment brought or sought against the agent. 3. An explanation of whether you believe the punishment brought or sought was appropriate and why. 4. An explanation of whether you believe that the Uniform Athlete Agents Act and SPARTA are enough to stop agents from giving college athletes improper benefits and why. • Please do not use the above question as headings
