Development Introduction This unit is about the strategic leadership skills required by directors and senior managers to lead organisations involved in inter-organisational strategic activity. Scenario Learners may use their own employment context, or that of another organisation with which they are very familiar, to base their assignment. However, in the case that they are not able to do so, please use the below scenario: – You are one of the more internationally experienced directors of an organisation which offers a wide range of products and services to customers in number of large countries – mostly through locally based operations. The organisation has been experiencing problems caused by conflicts between the strategies applied in each country and by the differences in strategies for some of the product lines. The board has asked you to investigate the potential of the organisation adopting a Collective Strategy approach. In your response, you will need to demonstrate an understanding of what Collective Strategy is its advantages, its limitations, and to what extent it could be effectively applied.
